Week 19-23

Well the last month has gone by in the blink of an eye.  We had a great time at the beach with the baby reveal, and since then it has been non-stop.  Pete and I have more things going on then we do hours in the day.

Here is what we have been up to:

Liam is becoming more of a big boy each day.  He really is so smart and knows all kinds of things.  He is even starting to read books that he memorizes- pretty impressive for a 22 month old.

Week 19: I did my first taste of shopping for a girl- so many cute frilly things.  Pete is nervous about all the shopping happening.  Lets just say her nursery will definitely be over the top girly!  We have been talking about it and actually made the decision to move her room to the current guest room.  This way if she cries, she hopefully won't wake up Liam like she would being right beside him.

Week 20-21: We had a great and busy last few weekend with lots of plans.  We had a few toddler dinners that were super cute with our friends, Danielle, Colleen, Katie, & Sarah.  The little 2 year old boys play till they pass out around 9:30pm.
We even busted out the firepit and let them make smores.

Week 22: Last weekend we went to our neighbor Jen & Jay's Halloween bash and dressed up as a bun in the oven team :)  Classic Pete & Heather.  Thanks Mom & Dad for always babysitting so we can have a good time.

Week 23: This week I decided to be crafty and make Halloween Treat Boxes for all of Liam's Teachers- they came out cute!

Whew I am tired just thinking about all that! Nothing like fun filled jam packed weekends.  Oh, and I have sold 122 houses year to date-- YAY!

The little bun is growing right along and actually had a check up today- 10-29-13 at 23 weeks.
She definitely is moving around, but is softer for sure than her older brother was. She likes to move the most at night right when I lay down.  Pete has gotten to feel her in action too which is cute.
Just this week her kicks are hard enough to actually see my stomach move.

Here are her 23 week stats:

How far along: 23 weeks or 5.5 Months

Size of Baby- I actually need to look but probably like a butternut squash

Movement- Yes she is kicking around

Total Weight Gain- 3 lbs- I am right on track with where I was with my 1st pregnancy.  My goal is to be back to normal at week 6 like last time.

Cravings- None really

Gender- Definitely Girl- I had April show me twice to be sure because Pete said " that sure does look like a weeny to me"

Names: None yet, we are talking about a few

Nursery: It is in the works!!

Best Moment of the Week: Liam talking about his sissy and he says she is swimming in there.

Week 18. . . .It's a . ... . . . . . . . .!!

This week we have lots going on.  We find out what bun #2 is. and then we leave for the Beach- YAY!
The 18 week ultrasound is extra special because you get to see all of the organs and get a 4D scan.  Haley & Kelly are coming with us since they have never been.  The plan is that when April gets to the gender, Pete and I will find out and Kelly and Haley will leave the room since everyone is planning to find out at the Beach on Thursday.  A big part of me feels like that might not happen because with Liam it was the first thing to pop up on the screen and I knew exactly what it was.

9-24: The BIG DAY!!

We went in and everything looks great- bun # 2 is all healthy and all of the parts are there.  When it came time for the gender. . . . .April said ok I stumbled on it- Kelly and Haley " do you want to stay or go".  Kelly decided they wanted to know, so she zoomed in and said " and there are her girl parts".  There was lots of screaming with excitement.. . . .so much so that my doctor came in to see what was going on- haha!  Pete was like this girl is going to be so spoiled- an explosion of pink for sure.
Kelly & Haley had to keep quiet until Thursday when everyone got to the beach!

It's a GIRL!!! Due 2/26/14

Everyone Predicted Girl Except My Dad!

                       Family Beach Time!

Week 17!!

Only one more week till we find out if it is PINK or BLUE!!

I ask Pete almost everyday what he thinks the baby is. . .I already know he thinks its a girl, but its so funny when he says it. I think he is secretly excited but scared at the same time :)
I have thought girl from the moment I found out I was pregnant until this last week.  Some aspects are totally different and some are the same so I have been thinking it could always swing blue.
April, our ultrasound tech is pretty awesome, and she told us at 12 weeks it was a girl-- lets see if she is right.

It is kind of crazy to think that I am almost 1/2 way done.  This pregnancy has flown by and I think I understand why.  We are so busy 24/7 with Liam that it is almost like you don't have a ton of time to even think.  We have not thought about names or the nursery until we figure out what we are having :)

17 Week Stats!
Here are the Baby Stats This Week:

Cravings: Anything Pumpkin.  I heart Fall- Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year.

Movement- Yes! The cutest little thumps.  They are totally different then Liam's first kick.  He was pretty firm and this is more like like taps.

Best Moment of the Week:  Only 1 more week of waiting!! I am excited!

The Best Week yet- Week 16!!

Week 16!!
Things are going a lot better this week!! I have been feeling better, definitely not as tired, and I think I felt the baby kick for the first time on 9/10/13.  It was different than Liam- definitely a little softer and if there had not been several in a row I might of overlooked it.  I did not feel Liam until he was 18 weeks so I for sure knew what it was :)
Sleep has been really great compared to what it was.  Overall, I cannot complain.  I think there is some truth that the second trimester is the best one.

One of my favorite parts  of being pregnant is when the baby starts moving. I am getting excited about our upcoming ultrasound in about 2 weeks, and then we all leave for the beach that Thursday.
Fall is coming and that means Holidays, Fun activities for Liam, fires in the new firepit, Liam's Bday, and Pumpkin Latte's.

We definitely have a growing to do list with things for the house. We are not totally used to all the outside maintenance that is required with a big house.  I am already thinking about decorating for Christmas and Pete is just trying to get the deck sealed- haha!
Once we know what the baby is, I have to get on the nursery.  I definitely don't want to leave that to the last minute with the Holidays coming.

Liam is getting cuter by the day.  He definitely has started toddler tantrums, which inst fun, but the good news is that isn't everyday.  He is talking a lot and even starting to say small sentences.  We talk to him about the baby and he point to my stomach, and also knows that the Doppler is for the baby :)

Things that I like these days:
*Healthy Snacks
*Going to the Gym
*Online Shopping- haha!
*Sleep is going good
*Lil Family Outings

Almost 15 Weeks!

I am so excited about my newest little one on the way.  Part of me is sad that it could be my last pregnancy ( I will be working on Pete about this for # 3 or # 4 one day)
The other part of me can't help but think how different the two pregnancies are.
Some things I will just have to make a mental note of, but others are really obvious.

Liam- Severe Cramping in the Beginning
Overall, I felt pretty good.  I worked out an hour and half almost everyday and it was always at night
I was really tired in the beginning but I remember that got better around 12 weeks because we were in Mexico on vacation
Trouble sleeping in second and third trimester
Wouldnt touch Chicken

This baby-
No cramping (except a few twinges)
Definitely get more Night Sickness
I just go downhill in general after 5 of 6pm
Super Tired all the time
Headaches almost everyday
Problems sleeping without unisom any night
Don't mind Chicken

One thing that is pretty common is I still like to eat healthy.
Some of my tops favs are:
Vanilla Greek Yougert with Granole
Cheese and Crackers
Cashews
Green Apples
Lemonade with Sparkling Water

15 Week Stats!

Here are the Baby Stats This Week:

Sleep:  Has not been great- I need to take unisom nightly or I am wide awake at about 3pm

Best Moment of the Week:  Hearing the heartbeat on my baby Doppler

The Start of Week 14! Start of the 2nd TriMesTeR

14 Weeks Already. . . .It is going by so fast!! I really want to try and remember everything in-case Pete keeps me at just 2 kids.  It is sad to think this could be my last pregnancy- WAHH!!

The Start of a Small Bump :)

This week I bought a fetal Doppler just so I could check in on the bun from now to when I start feeling some kicks.  You can buy fetal Doppler online for around $55 and they allow you to hear the heartbeat of the baby- which is pretty cool! I wish I would have known about these little gadgets with Liam.
So far the bun's heartbeat is around 160-174 pretty consistently.  It takes a few tries to figure out how to use it but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty cool!

My Dad is still anxiously awaiting what the gender is.  Anyone who was at the baby reveal for Liam knows what a maniac he was hoping for a boy!
This reveal will just be small and we are planning to do it on our Family Beach Trip to Charleston in September.
Haley is wanting to go to the appointment with us, so my plan is to give April ( the ultrasound tech) 2 boxes- 1 with a pink onezie and one with a blue onezie and have her put all of the pictures in there.
We will open it up at at the beach and all find out if it is pink or blue!

This time here is the verdict on the wish list:
Pete & Dad- BOY
Mom, Kelly, Haley- Think Girl
Me- I think Girl
My Friend Danielle- She thinks Girl
Christie- Thinks Girl
Steph- Thinks Girl

Who will guess correct . . . .we find out in 4 short weeks!

Week 12-13: Stomach Flu. .. . .ParTy of 4 :(

This week has been rough for all involved to say the least!  Liam got sick with the nasty stomach flu last Saturday and was up all night.  I was headed out of town Monday to Dallas, TX for a work trip.
Monday morning rolls around and Pete and I are both down for the count with it.  It was crazy how contagious and strong it was.
It only lasts about 12 hours and then begins the 2 day recovery of feeling like you got run over by a truck.
I was worried about the bun, especially since my weight has tanked since I got pregnant.
Dehydration is something no one wants to get.

My Mom and Dad were both champs and rushed to the rescue to help Pete and I on Monday since clearly there was no way we could keep up or run after Liam when we couldn't even manager to stand up.
Tuesday night rolls around. . .My Mom catches it- same thing!
Wednesday night rolls around. . . .poor Kelly gets it.
My Dad is DooMed- how can he not get it????

Hopefully we can zap this plague and get back to normal.  So far Haley and Josh have managed to escape it!

The saying Family is everything shows in these situations.  Pete and I felt terrible that we spread it to basically the entire fam- Boo!

12 Weeks- Can't Believe the First Trimester is Coming to a Close!

12 Week Ultrasound happened today- so exciting!
The bun checked out totally healthy with all the parts in place :)

Here are the Baby Stats This Week:

How Far Along: 12 Weeks

Size of  Bun # 2- About the size of a finger.

Total Weight Gain: (-) 4 lbs so far

Symptoms: Nausea is getting a lot letter now that I am hitting 12 weeks. Still really tired but part of that is I don't sleep great at night.

Gender Thought?  Pete says Girl, I am not sure yet-- maybe I will get a feeling.

Heartbeat- 150

Sleep:  Has not been great- just waking up alot.

Cravings: This week I really wanted a pop tart.  I bought some and had 1- Liam and Pete ate the rest :)

Movement- Have not felt anything yet- still too early

Best Moment of the Week:  Seeing our little bun bouncing all over the ultrasound screen

On to week 13!!

Week 11 and Counting!

This week was exciting!! A lot happened!
We went out to dinner with our favs, Michael & Mandy on Saturday and My parents watched Liam.
We had not seen them since Charleston, so it seemed like forever.

Here is Mandy's converstation with Michael on the way to the restaurant: " I have a feeling little one is prego.  If we get to the restaurant and she has a fake mock-tail, then I know for sure because that is what she did last time."'

Heather & Pete's conversation on the way to the restaurant: " Babe I am just going to go ahead and tell Mandy.  She knows me like a book anyway and will never buy me passing up a wine- come on now- this is me."

We walk into the restaurant and Mandy is at the bar waiting to order a wine. . .it comes my time and my response is: " Well.................................".
Mandy: " I knew it "
Heather: At least I waited till after our Charleston trip :)
HAHA!

Can't fool your BFF's- they get the intuition!

I went to the doctor this past Monday for a check up and I convinced the nurse to do the dopplar because I really wanted to hear the heartbeat.
She agreed to it and I was pumped!

I heard the little bun going strong- 155 BMP
We  go back in less than 2 weeks for the 12 week ultrasound and I can't wait for that because that will look like a real baby.

Here are the stats this week:

How Far Along: 11 Weeks

Size of  Bun # 2- 1 1/2 inches long, or the size of a plum

Total Weight Gain: (-) 4-5 LBS so far

Gender Thought?  Pete says Girl, I am not sure yet-- maybe I will get a feeling.

Heartbeat- 155 BMP

Sleep:  Good because I am exausted at night- I pass out by 930pm

Movement- Have not felt anything yet- still too early

Update Week 7-8

Week 7!  Sooo. . .a lot has been happening on this front!
Liam is getting cuter and smarter by the way.  He now can say almost everyone's name, knows a ton of his flash cards, is starting to like going to school Monday & Friday.
He knows about the baby and says "baby" and points to my stomach- so that is super cute!

Our ultrasound appointment with April went great- we saw the baby's heartbeat and it was thumping away at 122 BPM- that is pretty good for a 6 week, 5 day baby.

Check it out:

We broke the news to our parents recently, so that was exciting!  Apparently, My Mom and sisters have known for a while.  Remember the post a few weeks back about how I told Pete with the 2 for 2 in the oven? Well my Mom had to come over early one morning to watch Liam since he was still sleeping and I had an early work meeting. She went to make Liam his ususal breakfast which is typically waffles and fruit.
Since our kitchen is brand new, my Mom is still learning where everything is.  She gave up looking for a toaster and happened to past by the oven.
Low and behold she saw a shadow. . . . .AKA- I forgot to take the bun and 2 for 2 out of the oven.
She opened it and probably went screaming around the house- if only there was a video camera for that :)
So. . . . .Needless to say when we actually broke the news to them they said " we have knows for weeks, but we kept the secret from your Dad"- haha!

Here are the pics we took of Liam to break the news to them!

Pic 1- Liam being excited about his sister or brother

Pic # 2- Liam " Wait I have to share my toys with them too"

Pic # 3- Liam " Ok I guess I am excited about it Mommy & Daddy :) "

HE IS THE CUTEST!!!  EVERRR!!

On to week 7-8!

Week 5-6!

Wow- this time seems a little harder pregnancy wise.  I definitely remember being tired with Liam in the very beginning but part of that was because I got hardly any sleep at night due to all the cramping I had the first 6-7 weeks.
This time around I don't have the cramping like I did before, but the exaustion is on its own planet. I worked out almost every day with Liam so I think that helped with the tiredness. . ..that definitely isnt happening this time. I am lucky if I get to the gym 2-3 times per week.
I literally can't wait to get home from work so I can lay down.  YIKES!
Feeling pretty nautious too, which is new for me.  I really dont have an apetitie, but not eating makes it worse.  I also know I can lose any more weight, so I am just doing what I can.
Chasing after Liam and being prego makes it a different experience this time. . ...
All of these little things are ok- I am just grateful it happened so quickly for us so I have no complaints.  The 10 months of being pregnant ( yes it is 10 month, not 9- that is the small tip they leave out) is all worth it.

I am getting more nervous about our ultrasound next Tuesday- I have no idea why, I just feel like that.
Pete is coming so that is cute!
Hopefully we will see home heartbeat flutters.

Bun in the Oven # 2 Confirmed!!

When I took the test and it was positive- even I was a little shocked :)
I knew Pete would be shocked!!  I kept trying to think of a creative way to tell him, but keep the Heather & Pete humor.  It is no secret bun in the oven is our theme, and as Pete calls it " a one shot wonder".  I did the bun in the oven last time, but this time I wanted to do it with a twist.

Pete's View Coming Down Stairs :)
I guess I thought it was fitting to go with the 2 for 2 theme as Pete would find it funny that both of these pregnancies happened immediately.  He already told me don't think I am falling for " it might take us a while" for # 3.

This week update- Week 4-5

So it is crazy that it is so early on but this pregnancy is totally different than last time.  I don't know why but I feel so much more nervous than I did with Liam.  I went to see my favorite OBGYN this week, and she was super excited.  I have had baby fever for a while, so she was not shocked to see me.  I was paying alot closer attention to my cycle this time since I was "trying".  Pete is pumped that it was another one shot for him.  I think guys have such a since of pride about that- haha!

So back to this pregnancy being totally different- here is the deal right now:

Pregnancy Stats- I lost 6 lbs ( prob due to lack of wine drinking :)
Cravings: NO APETITE AT ALL. . ..but I did crave Graham Crackers
Symptoms: Super Tired, Feeling Barfy, Feeling Short Fused, Cramps
Things I miss:  Wine- boo its Summer too
Exciting Moment of the Week: Liam points to my belly and says "Baby"
Dr. Jain says she is going to call it now that she thinks its a Girl. . ..we will see

We go back for an Ultrasound on July 9th- can't wait to see the lil bun.

2 For 2!! :)

This was originally written about 6/21/13

So, I have been meaning to keep a blog going so I can document all of the fun things Liam is up to these days.  He really is amazing smart little boy, and does new things every day.
So. . . another reason I have been wanting to get back into doing my blog is that Pete and I recently started talking about bun # 2.
I have had baby fever for a while, so that is no secret! Pete on the other hand, is obsessed with Liam and does'nt think he will be able to spread all his love over 2 babies- haha!

So back in early June we decided to "see what happens".  We tried that with Liam and it was a one shot deal.  I told hubs that it might not be that easy round # 2, but he of course being optomistic said his classic line of " babe I am fertile so this will be no problem".

We started just "seeing what happens".  I know my cycle to a T, except for the last 2 months have been off so I wasnt really sure.  Then. . .. . ..things started happening and I started to wonder, maybe this is shot 2 for 2 :)  I started having some of the same symtoms I did with Liam- being really tired, going to bed by  930pm, a lot of cramping, and a few other things.
On Father's Day I really thought I might be prego so I took a test and it was negative.  I was a little sad becaause I thought that would be cool to tell Pete he was going to be a Dad again on Father's Day.
I waited a few more days and still no sign of Aunt Flow.

This morning June 20th, I woke up at like 6:20am because I had passed out last night at like 9:00 or 9:30.  I just woke up with a feeling that I was prego. I took a test and boom- positive.
I so wanted to tell Pete because I knew he was getting up for work.  Part of me though- he is going to wonder why the heck I am up at 6:20am when that never happens.
I was almost going to tell him when he came down stairs, and then I thought- no, I have to do something more fun than just busting it out.

I know he already thinks I am pregnant because he is has been saying that for a week now. I can predict the words out of his mouth as I know he will be so proud of the " shot 2 for 2"
Hmmm. . . . .I am on the hunt to find a cool way to tell him. . ..gotta get it figured out today and incorporate Liam some how :)
